In Match Day 1 of the Interschools and Colleges Boys Soccer tournament at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Sakafia Senior High School progressed on Friday morning to the quarter-finals.
The match ended 1-1 after the entire game, with goals for Sakafia and O’Sec Tech respectively by Ibrahim Zuberu and Williams Agyei Darkwa.
In the 15th minute of the match, Sakafia Senior High School’s Ibrahim Zuberu scored an opener at the edge of the box.
But the morning was far from stormy as O’Secondary Technical School fought back three minutes before the recess to the point of scoring by winger Williams Agyei Darkwa.
In the second half, the two teams slow down and there was no obvious opportunity to continue.
O’Sec Technical School’s defender Maxwell Sam was matched off by the referee in the second-half following a threatening challenge on Sakafia Senior High School’s player after been showed the straight red card.
It was a game when two halves were entertained with one end-to-end fight and the other almost a boring game.
The game went on to penalty shootouts, who scores the fourth and the win of Sakafia 5-4 over Obuasi Secondary Technical School was claimed by Sakafia Senior High.
Sakafia Senior High School will compete in the quarter-finals on Monday, January 20, 2020, with the winner between Toase Senior High School and the Kumasi Anglican Senior High School.
