4 Students of Adeiso SHS Sacked for Showing COVID-19 Symptoms
Adeiso Senior High School Management in the Eastern Region reportedly left (sacked) some of the school’s students to their fate to deal with the locally transmitted coronavirus that claimed at least 139 lives.
Reports indicate that, contrary to President Akufo-Addo ‘s directive, the Adeiso Senior High School (SHS) does not have an isolation center and campus health personnel.
In the meantime, President Akufo-Addo told all senior high schools (SHS) in one of his nation’s addresses to reserve an isolation center and get health workers to attend COVID-19 events.
According to a report from GhanaWeb, the school headmaster, Doe Adzrago, two weeks after displaying symptoms of the virus, four students were permitted to go home and self-isolate without telling their parents.
The source said the action taken by the Headmaster follows a coronavirus test on the four students.
Currently, the test results have not yet been released to know their health status.
According to GhanaWeb, Samuel Gyansah of Adeiso Health Clinic when contacted admitted that a student from the Adeiso SHS was at the facility, and samples were taken for testing after he exhibited signs of the global pandemic.
Speaking in the interview Samuel Gyansah said “only one person came here. We have a team that takes the sample when you are suspected to have contracted coronavirus so we called that team and I think the sample was taken”.
