Within three hours, Rocky was released from jail after posting $550,000 bail.
A$AP Relli, whose real name is Terell Ephron, came forward as the alleged victim in August 2022, The Shade Room reports. He alleged that Rocky “lured him to a mysterious place in the middle of Hollywood” in order to “discuss an argument between them.”
A statement from Reilly’s attorneys, Jamal Toson and Brian Horowitz, provided more details.
Unbeknownst to Mr. Efron, A$AP Rocky was not just planning on having a conversation and came armed with a semi-automatic handgun. After reaching the site, a conversation ensued where without provocation, warning, or any justification, A$AP Rocky produced the revolver and deliberately fired several shots at Mr. Efron.”
In addition, A$AP Relli alleged that the person was hit by bullet fragments during the shooting and that his injuries required medical attention. In addition, the former A$AP Mob group mate filed a “Civil Assault and Battery Case” against Rocky, accusing him of the same actions.
A$AP Rocky’s Charges & His Initial Appeal
As previously reported by The Shade Room, A$AP Rocky was formally charged with “two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm” on August 15, 2022. On August 17, Rocky appeared in court for the alleged shooting.
In addition to this, the rapper entered a not guilty plea.
Judge Victoria Wilson A Protective order preventing Rocky fromPossession of any firearms or ammunition.” The order also forbids him to “contact or approach Riley within 100 yards.”
Rocky’s Response to A$AP Relli’s Allegations and Civil Lawsuit
According to court documents obtained by Complex in September 2022, Rocky denied Riley’s allegations. The deposition reportedly read:
“The respondent respondent generally denies every allegation in the complaint, and specifically denies that the claimant was harmed in any amount or in any way as a result of any act or omission to respond to the respondent.”
Furthermore, Rocky alleged that Reilly’s injuries “came solely, directly and proximately from the negligence and/or willful actions or omissions” on the part of another person. In addition, Rocky asserted that Reilly “failed to exercise reasonable care to avoid the consequences of the tort.”
In addition, Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, referred to Reilly’s lawsuit as an attempted “extortion.”
“Rocky did not commit a crime. It was an attempted blackmail by a former colleague, and he threatened to file false criminal charges if Rocky did not pay him. What will become abundantly clear in the coming months, based on the facts and evidence, is that Rocky is innocent of these charges.”
Latest Court Orders A$AP Rocky
According to the Daily Mail, Rocky was not present at the latest court hearing on Tuesday. Despite this, Judge Kerry White has scheduled a preliminary hearing for June 5.
Rocky, who is still out on $550,000 bail, is expected to attend court proceedings. In addition, Judge White will determine whether the alleged shooting case goes to trial.
The rapper faces two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm. In addition, he could serve “up to four years in prison on each count if convicted.” As Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon previously explained, the alleged shooting could have had “tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for the innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood.”
Furthermore, the attorney general explained that there was “a thorough review and not the evidence in this case” and “A$AP Relli’s firearms allegation was justified.”
As previously reported by The Shade Room, Rocky is expecting his second child with girlfriend Rihanna. According to TMZ, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on May 13, 2022, in Los Angeles.
