A section of residents has complained that they have not witnessed the famed security operation but have agreed to vacate their homes to allow the government to carry out the operation.
“There is no day that has passed without a visit by bandits and when they come, they must steal or kill. We are wondering what this operation is doing because we can’t see any. We have vacated our residence to pave way for the security operation. There is no security here, bandits come at noon, they want to take our cows or we get killed,” a resident of Kagir village in Laikipia West complained.
Another one claimed that the government restricted the movement from 6pm but bandits do not respect the directive and continued to raid villages all the time.
