The Winneba High Court has ordered for two dismissed staff of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), to be restored to their respective positions.
Mr. Enoch Ebenezer Bondzie and Mr. Dennis Afriyie Marfo Osei who were Senior Staff in the Finance Section of the University on February 1, 2019 had their appointments terminated by the University for various corrupt practices at the University.
Mr Dennis Afriyie Marfo Osei was found guilty of corroborating in the falsification of records and use of fictitious receipts in the claims for medical refunds of Mr Enoch Ebenezer Bondzie. He was thus found to have aided and abetted Mr Enoch Ebenezer Bondzie in defrauding the University which amounted to gross misconduct.
But a Winneba High Court has ordered for the two dismissed staff of the University of Education, Winneba, to be restored to their respective positions.
The court held that the two were illegally dismissed as the findings and recommendations of the committee set up to sit on their cases.
