Court Sentences 19-year-old JHS 3 Pupil to 6 months Imprisonment for stealing Alcoholic Beverages

Unfortunately, a 19-year-old JHS three pupil identified as Emmanuel Antwi has been sentenced to six months imprisonment by the Nkwawie Circuit Court in Greater Kumasi.

According to a report gathered by websaet.com, Emmanuel Antwi broke into a drinking spot through the ceiling and took away several sachets of alcoholic beverages.

The report continued that the JHS three students made his way through the ceiling of the drinking bar located at Maabang, near Adankwame in the Atwima-Nwabiagya North District, with iron rods at about 2300 hours, and stoled drinks equivalent to GHc 4,000.00 as well as cash of GHc 400.00 .

Emmanuel Antwi at court pleaded guilty and was convicted on his appeal by Mr. Johnson Abbey.

Comfort Amankwaa, Detective Chief Inspector report to the court indicates that the convict and the complainant were both residents of Maabang.

The Detective Chief Inspector continued that on April 28, 2020, at about 2300 hours, the student broke into the drinking bar and stole several sachets of alcoholic beverages and took to his heels.

The prosecution said the complainant get noticed of the theft the following morning and in the course of investigations, some people prompted her about the suspicious movement of Emmanuel Antwi in the area the previous night.

The complainant, therefore, reported the incident to the Adankwame police hence the arrest of the convict.

Chief Inspector Amankwaa said during further interrogation the student admitted the offense and he was then charged and summoned before the court.
