Dallas Teen Killed While Riding Stolen Horse On Freeway

A 14-year-old’s life is tragically cut short after he was hit by a car while riding a stolen horse on a Dallas highway, and two other teens are being treated for injuries.

According to a statement from the Dallas Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, and an investigation revealed that the three teens — ages 14, 16, and 17 — were riding stolen horses.

During the funky ride, a passenger is hit by a car on the road to Great Trinity Forest near Interstate 45 (also known as the Julius Schepps Freeway). The youngest teen unfortunately did not survive.

Additionally, one of the horses was killed at the scene, while another was killed by a veterinarian. The third horse is expected to survive his injuries.

As for the surviving teenage passengers, they were noted to be receiving treatment at a local hospital and “remain in a stable condition”.

The driver is not expected to face the charges

Although there was an ongoing investigation into the ordeal, authorities noted that “it is not expected that the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident will be charged.”
