Does University of Ghana, Legon Accept ‘D7’ in Admitting Students?

Is D7 accepted at the University of Ghana? We have been asked this question several times by our community of readers, in this post we will clear the doubt about grade D7 in the admission application.

Not long ago, Professor Kwesi Yankah the Minister of State in Charge of Tertiary Education suggested grade D7 and E8 should be considered in University admissions.

Before we say YES or No, please take note that Professor Kwesi Yankah the Minister of State in Charge of Tertiary Education only suggested that D7 should be considered however it has not yet been accepted by various Universities.

Currently, public universities do not accept D7 for core subjects in admission purposes.

Minimum Requirement for University Admission in Ghana

Minimum/General Entry Requirements into the University of Ghana
An applicant for admission to a degree programme in the University of Ghana must have at least credits (A1 – C6 in WASSCE and A – D in SSSCE) in English, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science (for Science related programmes) or Social Studies (for non-Science related programmes) and three elective subjects in Science for applicants applying to Science or Agriculture related disciplines or three elective subjects in General Arts/Business for applicants applying to non-Science related disciplines, with the total aggregate not exceeding 24.
