Eid-Al-Adha: Ghana Declares Friday, July 31, 2020 as a Public Holiday
The Ministry of Interior under the auspices of the Government of Ghana (GoG) has declared Friday, July 31, 2020, which marks Eid-Al-Adha, as a statutory public holiday.
The Ministry entreats the citizenry to observe the holiday as such while adhering to the COVID-19 preventive protocols, especially in relations to social events at public places.
The announcement follows confirmation by the moon-sighting committees formed to determine the beginning of the 12th month of the Islamic calendar.
In the anouncement, the Interior Minister said;

The general public is hereby reminded that Friday, July 31, 2020 which marks Eid-Al-Adha, is a statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.
The general public is advised to observe the safety protocols associated with the novel coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), especially in relation to social events at public places.
