Election 2020: Selection of Prof. Jane Opoku-Agyemang as Running Mate is Boost for Women’s Advancement – Prof. Mrs. Goski Alabi

Prof. Mrs. Goski Alabi, Consulting President of Laweh Open University College, has observed that the selection of Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as a vice presidential candidate is a boost for women’s advancement.” The selection of women as flagbearers or running mates gives us hope that we are improving year by year.

And what makes it special is the fact that, one of the two political parties that can often win election has nominated a woman as vice presidential candidate,” Prof. Mrs Alabi noted.

She reasoned that if Ghanaian women expressed their belief in their own kind by voting for Prof. Jane Opoku-Agyemang, then a woman would become the vice president, the second-highest position on the land. Prof. Mrs. Alabi made these remarks when she addressed the recent conference of Alliance of Feminists Civil Society Organisations on Women Participation in Election 2020 as the Keynote Speaker.
