Free SHS Ambassador, Mr Rahim Banda gifts NAPO a Beautiful Citation

Ghana’s Free SHS ambassador in the person of Mr Rahim Banda has gifted Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh who was the former Education Minister from 2017 to 2020 as he has been re-appointed by Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo to go head the Energy Ministry of Ghana.Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has been replaced by his Deputy (Education Minister), Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum.

Free SHS Ambassador Rahim Banda took it upon himself to visit the outgoing minister of education Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, to thank him and honor him with a citation for all the good work he has done in his term.

The beautiful citation was presented to Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh on Monday 25th January 2021 to the Manhyia South Member of Parliament (MP) when Mr Rahim Banda visited the premises of the Ministry of Education (MoE) here in Accra.

The Minster was pleased with the citation and on behalf of the Ministry of Education (MoE) commended he Free SHS ambassador for accepting, at no fee, to support the President’s vision of Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy.

Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh wrote;

“As the President’s Representative at the Ministry of Education, I was delighted to receive in my office this morning the actor Rahim Banda, who is a Free SHS ambassador. He attended with his team.

On behalf of the Ministry of Education, I thanked Mr. Banda for accepting, at no fee, to support the President’s vision of Free SHS, despite insistence by some sections of the public to the contrary.

Ms. F Bintu Ibrahim-Banda, who is also a member of his Free SHS Ambassador team, expressed her delight at the opportunity given to Mr. Banda to be a part of this important policy in his own way. She expressed the view that every Ministry needs an ambassador to help propagate its message.

On his part, Mr. Banda stated that not many people understood what the policy was about, and that his duty was to help create public awareness.

I was honoured to receive a beautiful citation from Mr. Banda, for which I remain eternally grateful.”
