The Ghanaian-German Center (GGC) held a one-day virtual career guidance seminar for final year students of the Maame Krobo Community Day Senior High School (MAKSS). The virtual career guidance seminar happened on Thursday, July 23, 2020.
The seminar was organized by the school authorities to help students make the right career decisions in life after school even as they prepare for their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in a few days.
Advisor and Social Worker with the GGC, Mrs. Ernestina Adu, who led the seminar, took students through life after SHS, opportunities available for them after school, various tertiary programs and emerging career options for young people.
She encouraged the students to, as a matter of priority, learn a skill or two that can serve as reliable source of income after school which they can even develop into careers in the future.
According to her, this also serves as an opportunity for students, especially Home Economics and Technical students to put the many things they have learned in school into practice.
She also urged them to take advantage of the technological revolution to add value to themselves by making good use of the many technological devices at their disposal.
Catholic priest and tutor of the school, Rev Father Stephen Kofi Sakpaku, advised the students to continue to add value to themselves as they find their ways to the Universities.
The students however expressed joy at the end of the seminar and were thankful to GGC for impacting on their lives.
