High School Festival of Relay Race To Be Held at Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Dec 04.

The first-ever Senior High Schools (SHS) Festival of Relay Race comes off on the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on December four, 2019.
The occasion is put up with the aid of Dreamland SportsPlus is dubbed ‘Make or Break’, and under the sturdy subject ‘The Power of the Baton – To make or unmake, no stupid second’.
Emmanuel Olla Williams CEO of Dreamland SportsPlus said all the Senior High Schools in the Central Region had been invited as the programme has been sanctioned through the Central Regional Sports Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
He stated motivation to prepare the programme came from watching Ghana’s performances at the 2019 African Games in Morocco in which the male quartet squad received gold, and the World Athletics Championship in Doha, Qatar wherein the favoured female group dropped their baton.
“Judging through the statistics of our country wide athletes’ performances at worldwide Games, I located that Ghana’s strength lies inside the sprint occasions, specially the relays, the Festival of Relays is consequently aimed at unearthing talents to be groomed into country wide and international stars,” he stated.
He referred to the seven occasions as four x100m, 4 x200m, four x 400m, 4 x 800m, 1,000m combined relay, 2,400 combined medley and the brand new 2 x 2 x 400m relay.
30 SHS, every to be represented through 60 athletes, totalling 1,800 athletes have showed their participation in the competition.According to Olla Williams, the programme has already started generating arguments among the students and it’d be interesting and thrilling.

He called on businesses whose brands are related to sports and training to support the initiative which goes to be held inside the different regions.
