The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released a link to its E-learning portal, with enough resources to guide students preparing for the May/June 2020 WASSCE Examination across the West Africa.
Contained on the E-learning portal, among others includes Chief Examiners’ reports on all subjects for the past ten (10) years, as well as past questions, answers and reviews on what was expected of students for every question.
Students and Teachers are to access the resources by visiting https://waeconline.org.ng/e-learning/
The resources not only will be of help to students, but also to the teachers and school owners, as it will be a compass to ensure that what they teach commensurrates with the WAEC marking schemes. Suffice is to say that, the online facility will tantamount to a better performance of students in the coming WASSCE diets.
The E-learning portal was also necessitated by the Ministry of Education’s call for schools to embibe the digital learning and virtual classes. Apparently, most schools in West Africa are just beginning to embrace the reality of this shift, and therefore needed some time to put together a virtual space suitable for learners and tutors.
In this regard, all stakeholders in the education sector must come together to see to the success of this new dimension.
The most challenge so far seems to be those who are at the rural areas of West Africa, with limited access to technology and online materials, especially in present time that schools remain closed.
