John Dumelo lands in Fresh Trouble for Lying to Students

In an attempt to receive warmth from tertiary students living within the ayawaso wugoun consistency and have them vote for him (Mr.Dumelo) come December 7th, 2020, the said parliamentary candidate has been exposed big.

Information received from the campaign camp of the ace actor is that he had distributed over 4000 pieces of laptops to the staffs of the University of Ghana, Legon, and that of Ghana institute of management and public administration (GIMPA) for distribution in the next academic year for students.

Ayawaso West Wuguon Constituency embodies the two higher learning institutions, the University of Ghana(UG) and the Ghana institute of management and public administration(GIMPA). With Mr. John Dumelo’s laptop’s interventions for students within the constituency, a lot of students have confessed to vote for the amateur politician in the offing parliamentary elections on 7th  December 2020

However, a coalition of frontline students’ leaders in UG and GIMPA has disclosed that the said distribution of laptops to students was false and that no student has confirmed receiving laptops from his end.

According them, the fabricated lies has led to an unwanted pressure from students on the School authorities and the Students Representative Council(SRC).

Read below the press release; We note with grave concern, the circulation of some news item to the effect that Mr. john Dumleo, NDC parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso West Wuguon Consistuency , has distributed 4,000 laptops to students of the Univerity of Ghana(UG) , Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and other tertiary institution in the constituency

As a result of the false impression created by Mr.john Dumelo , some students have plied unwarranted pressure on authorities of  schools and students leaders to distribute laptops given them.

It must be stated emphatically that, authorities of tertiary institutions in the constituency including students leaders from various students representative councils (SRC) and Junior Common Rooms(JCRs) have not received laptops or collaborated with Mr. John Dumelo to share same to students.

Further, tertiary institutions in the constituency have been closed due to COVID-19 restrictions and students are currently not on campus. This raises serious questions about which students have been beneficiaries of the said distribution.

It therefore amounts to an act of deception to score political points by Mr. John Dumelo by creating an impression that he has distributed 4000 laptops to students of tertiary institutions in the Ayawaso west Wuguon Constituency .

Until Mr. Dumelo provides adequate evidence to prove that he has distributed 4000 laptops to students in the constituency, his actions can only be interpreted as an attempt to hoodwink students, an act which truly reflects his convictions that he does not believe in intellectuals.

The general public is therefore urged to treat such claim b Mr. Dumelo with contempt it deserves.

Ayawaso west Wugoun constituency is within the Accra metropolis and it seat is been contested by Mrs. Lydia Seyram the incumbent member of parliament and Mr.John Dumelo, ace actor and an entrepreneur.
