Just in: Mawuli Senior High School Records First Case of COVID-19

The prayer for non spread in the Coronavirus to other Senior High Schools in the country as recorded last week seems to be disappointing. Report has it that, Mawuli Senior High School in Ho has recorded its first cases. The students affected show signs of the virus few days after returning to school from home. This is very unfortunate.

Earlier before this, it was recorded that thirteen final year students in senior high schools in the country had tested positive for the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) days after schools reopened. the Ministry of Education has confirmed.

The cases were recorded in the Greater Accra and the Central Regions.

In his press briefing, the Deputy Minister of Education, in charge of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, putmitmon record that, 6 students in Accra Girls Senior High School tested positive. Likewise a teacher and his wife.

Not only that, some students from the Odorgonor SHS also tested positive for the virus in Accra.

And others from the Konongo Wesley SHS had also tested positive for same (COVID-19).

According to the Deputy Minister, the students had been isolated and their parents had been informed accordingly.

Dr Adutwum, indicated that, contact tracing had been done and the people had been isolated.

He said counsellors had been provided at the Accra Girls Senior High School to support them psychologically.
