Mawuli School fails; misses Quarter-finals after defeat to St. Margaret Mary

St. Margaret’s Mary SHS has become the second school from the Regional stage of this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz championship to advance to progress to the quarterfinals.

They defeated Volta Region’s Mawuli School and Ghana SHS, Tamale.

For many people, Mawuli School was going to make light work of the two schools considering their previous successes in the competition.

However, that could not materialize as six additional points earned by the boys from the Dansoman-based school was what dumped the hopes of Mawuli School from coming back to glory days.

Ghana SHS, Tamale, came into the contests as favourites as they were the seeded school in the contest, but failed to secure another place in the quarterfinals for a consecutive time.

St. Margaret Mary’s progress to the quarterfinal stage of this year’s Championship earns them automatic qualification to next year’s competition.
