National Service Scheme 2020/2021 Appointment Letters for Prospective Service Personnel released

The National Service Scheme has released the appointment letters for prospective national service personnel who have been deployed to various user agencies across the country for the 2020/2021 service year. Prospective service personnel is to send their letters for endorsement at their place of posting before they book appointments online for registration and validation at their designated center.

The release of the appointment letters comes ahead of the start of registration and validation processes scheduled to begin at all centres on Thursday, September 3, 2020.

Meanwhile, the service period officially commences on Monday, September 7, 2020.

That notwithstanding, the National Service Scheme has asked those who have been deployed to educational institutions to hold on with their registration and validation until schools official re-open.

The Scheme explained that the arrangement “is being implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic directives and is intended to prevent large gatherings of national service personnel at registration centres.”

Management of the Scheme has also advised prospective service personnel against changing their postings.

“Management wishes to emphasize that it will not encourage a change of postings;’ and therefore, urges all service personnel posted to accept their placements and consider it as part of their contributions towards the socio-economic development of the nation,” the release adds.

NSS releases 2020/2021 postings

The National Service Scheme on Monday, August 31, announced that some 86,478 prospective service persons had been deployed to user agencies across the country for the 2020/2021 service year.

The figure is an increase on the 77,962 who were posted in the 2019/2020 service year.

This year, the Greater Accra Region has the highest number of 33,798 service persons, while North East Region has the lowest figure of 118.
