New Acting Director-General of NaCCA holds Maiden Staff Meeting

Director-General of NaCCA

The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA), led by the Acting Director-General, Mr John Mensah Anang held its first staff meeting for the New Year, 2021 on 6th January 2021 at its Standards, Quality Assurance, and Assessment Directorate located within the office complex of the Science Resource Centre in Cantonments, Accra.

The purpose of the meeting was to offer both Management and Members of Staff an opportunity to review and discuss the agency’s activities in 2020 and to understand the probable courses of activities to be undertaken in 2021.

Acting Directors from the following Directorates: Standards, Quality Assurance, and Assessment, Instructional Resources, and Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation took turns to brief staff on what transpired in each directorate as far as advancing the agency’s strategic objectives in 2020. Staff members were given the opportunity to ask questions and make suggestions on the presentations made by the Acting Directors.

This consultative approach afforded staff members a kick at the can in terms of what improvements can be made to make the agency’s proposed activities for 2021 attainable and highly effective so to achieve the mission, goals and vision of NaCCA.

Bringing the meeting to a closure, the current Director-General, Mr. Anang encouraged all staff members to rally around each other as was done during the era of Dr. Armah and form powerful synergies that will drive NaCCA to become an agency of the MoE that has excellent expertise in Curriculum and Assessment.

The former Director-General of NaCCA, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, feted staff members as a way of bidding them farewell. Though absent, the entire staff members expressed their appreciation for Dr. Armah’s sterling leadership style that has gotten the agency this far.
