Notice: Old Achimotan Association to hold Annual General Meeting on July 26, 2020

The AGM, originally scheduled for 19th April 2020, will now take place on Sunday, 26th July 2020. The postponement was due to the lockdown that was in place. It is proposed to hold the meeting at the old Assembly Hall of the School for 100 people, assuming the usual attendance of less than 100.

Adequate arrangements will be made for social distancing and the observance of all COVID-19 safety protocols, including the wearing of face masks throughout the meeting.

Additionally, arrangements will be made for another 100 or more to attend by Zoom. It is essential that all persons intending to participate in the AGM register with the Secretariat so that proper arrangements are made to receive them.

We expect that all persons participating in the meeting will be in good standing as we plan to hold elections on the day.

Before the start of the AGM, the 4 pavilions at the Science Block will be named and opened by representatives of the Year Groups that ‘sponsored’ them at 2:00 pm.

The President of OAA has indicated to the Executive Committee that he will not be seeking re-election to a third term.

All those interested in taking up the responsibility of leading the OAA or joining the Executive Committee are encouraged to prepare themselves for nomination. The Secretariat will soon issue guidelines for the conduct of the elections.
