NOVDEC 2020: WAEC Extends Registration for Private Candidates [Check New Date]

The Council wishes to inform the general public that Short Notice Registration (Walk-In) for West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates, 2020 is currently ongoing and will end on 10th November 2020. Interested persons should visit the nearest WAEC Office or call 0302208201-9.

Meanwhile, Co-ordination and Marking Exercises have been completed for the 2020 WASSCE for school candidates and processing of results as well as other post-examination activities are ongoing.

The Council also cautions candidates to be wary of websites announcing the release of the results and of persons who promise to upgrade results for a fee. These are activities of fraudsters and all stakeholders are hereby alerted accordingly. Furthermore, the Council urges all institutions to always authenticate results presented to them.

Also, the West African Examinations Council has introduced the use of mobile money for the payment of registration fees for private candidates’ examinations namely: the WASSCE for Private Candidates and BECE for Private Candidates.

After going through the registration process online, candidates now have the option of dialing *944# and use any of the mobile money platforms to pay their fees. The process which is easy and convenient has provided an opportunity for candidates in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic to register for the examination and make payments without going to the bank. The service is available on MTN, AIRTEL/TIGO and VODAFONE networks
