NSMQ 2020: OLAM Carmel Girls’ SHS steals the show, brutally defeats opponents in NSMQPrelims

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Girls’ SHS gave an awesome performance making their win look flawlessly easy.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Girls’ SHS made their first appearance in 2018 but suffered a brutal defeat in the hands of Opoku Ware. This year they came back with renewed fire, stealing the show in every round of contest two at the Bono-Ahafo Regional Preliminary Stage to cement their place at the One-eighth stage.

There wasn’t much competition between Our Lady of Mount Carmel Girls’ SHS, Mim SHS, and Acherensua SHS as Our Lady of Mount Carmel dominated every round of the contest. They gave an awesome performance making their win look flawlessly easy.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Girls’ SHS showed off in round one leading with 23 points, Mim SHS and Acherensua SHS had 3 and 2 points respectively.

Sadly, Mim SHS and Acherensua SHS could not catch up to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Girls’ SHS in round two. Acherensua SHS accrued minus two points, Mim SHS had two points and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Girls’ SHS dominated with 34 points.

None of the contestants came close to the perfect score of 10 from solving the Problem of the Day, therefore no one won the GHC 2000 prize sponsored by Prudential Life Insurance.

None of the contestants in round five won the GOIL Riddle Bonanza worth GHC800.

With 52 points at the end of the contest, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Girls’ SHS stands a greater chance of winning the Airtel-Tigo highest scorer of the day award worth GHC1000.
