NSMQ 2020 Prelims: Akumfi Ameyaw SHTS bags GH¢2000.00 despite crashing out of this year’s Competition
Akumfi Ameyaw Senior High and Technical School in the Brong Ahafo Region has bagged a total cash prize of GH¢2000.00 as the winner of the Prudential Life National Science and Maths Quiz Star even though they occupied the last position at the end of the contest.
The school has defeated their colleagues from Berekum SHS (BESS) and Presbyterian Senior High School Bechem (PRESEC) by hitting the 10points target in resolving the problem of the day.
This feat classifies Akumfi Ameyaw SHTS as the third school to win the prize after that of St. Mary’s Boys’ and Tarkwa Senior High schools on September 10, 2020.

The contest started in a somber atmosphere for the school, as they have managed to score 3points at the end of the first round.
The team trailed behind at the end of the second round even though they have scored an additional one point making it 4points.
It was an enthralling smile on the face of the contestants as the amassed the perfect score of 10 points required to win the prudential life NSMQ Star.
Berekum SHS floors Berekum SHS & Akumfi SHTS
Berekum senior High School has floored the Presbyterian Senior High School Bechem (PRESEC) and Akumfi Ameyaw senior high and Technical School to qualified for the one-eight stage in this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz.
In a preliminary stage today, September 14, 2020, Berekum SHS’ contestants ended the contest with 35 points, 15 clear points ahead of its closest contender, Bechem PRESEC which had 20 points.
Akumfi Ameyaw SHTS managed to secure 14 points at the end of the contest.
