NSMQ 2020 Prelims: Tema Methodist SHS Swoops a Win to secure place in the One-Eighth Stage

As first-time competitors on the NSMQ National Championship stage, contestants from Tema Methodist SHS exhibited true showmanship and teamwork securing their place in the One-Eighth Stage of this year’s National Championship.

Tema Methodist SHS made their debut appearance today at the National Science & Maths Quiz Preliminary Stage, competing against Holy Trinity Cathedral SHS and Our Lady of Mercy SHS. As first-time competitors on the NSMQ National Championship stage, contestants from Tema Methodist SHS exhibited true showmanship and teamwork, securing their place in the One-eighth Stage of this year’s National Championship.

Tema Methodist SHS breezed through the first round with a 19-point lead. The intensity of the competition could be felt in the room during the third round, as the contestants raced against time to solve the Problem of the Day.

At the beginning of round 3, Holy Trinity Cathedral SHS substituted Wahab Abdul Hassan with Bismark Aryitey on their team.

Our Lady of Mercy SHS provided stiff competition for the NSMQ National Championship first-timers – Tema Methodist SHS – as they tied in round three and four of the competition. However, Tema Methodist SHS emerged victorious with 39 points at the end of the contest.
