Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC-Legon) have said that they will do better this year as they were first runner ups of last year’s National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
PRESEC who were defeated by St. Augustine’s Senior High School, Cape Coast has told all their fans and followers that they are going to prepare hard to make sure they win this years edition of the NSMQ
St. Augustine’s College took the lead in all five rounds and finished the grand finals last year 11th July 2019 with 39 points with Presec bagging 34 points and St. Peter’s 25.
“At the end of the fifth round last year, the scores: St. Peters having 25, Presec, Legon had 34, and St. Augustine’s College having 39 points,” quiz mistress Dr Elsie Kuaffman declared at the National Theatre in Accra
She added: “As far as I’m concerned, you’re all champions but I have some distinctions to make. St. Peter’s, you did very well, thanks but it was difficult today, the Egyptians were too good for you. Never mind you have earned the money zone of GHS1,500 GCB Bank.
“Presec, Legon, Thanks as well, you did well but the opponent was great for you. Nonetheless, in the GCB Bank money zone you earned GHS2,000.
“Wow….St Augustine’s College, Congratulations, you did it to win the contest. You got Ghc 2,340. Dr Kauffmann had to remind the representatives of Presec to take their time to answer the questions, as they were getting answers that ordinarily, a Presecan would have scored, wrong.
“Patience is sometimes a virtue,” she advised the Presecans.
Some Presecans were optimistic about winning the contest next year, that is 2020 immediately after last year’s competition.
“We think that in the future our contestants who participated in the competition last year have more things to offer. They inspired us in Form Two to prepare very hard for the next year 2020, “a five-time champion student said.
Another person also said: “We’re going to do number six the next year 2020, we’re going to win big next year. Next year, we’ll do big stuff.
