Primetime Limited, the organizers of the National Science and Maths Quiz; an annual science and mathematics content-based national level quiz competition for senior high schools in Ghana has disclosed that this year’s regional qualifiers will feature over 600 schools that will compete for a chance to show their prowess on the National Stage in a post copied to unitedshowbiz.com.gh dated March 12.
The 28th edition of the programme which is the NSMQ 2021 will have its Regional Qualifiers slated for 12th April to 15th May 2021. and from 9th to 19th March when the balloting for contests takes place across the country.
A tweet at 9:08am by NSMQ Ghana, tweeting @NSMQGhana gave the schedule of contests first in the Greater Accra Region and followed by another tweet at 3:32 pm for the Upper West Region.
The dates for the Regional contests are May 3 and 4, 2021, for the first two days of contests in the Greater Accra and Upper West Regions.
Also in the Greater Accra competitions, Contests 1, 2, 3 and 4 will take place on May 3, 2021, while Contests 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 will take place on Day Two- May 4, 2021.
On May 3, 2021, in the Upper West Region, Contests 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be held, while on Day Two, contests 5, 6 and 7 will be conducted on May 4, 2021.
2021 NSMQ seeded schools
Out of the 27 seeded schools, nine are boys schools, 3 are girls schools and the rest(15) are mixed schools
The boys’ schools comprise six-time winners Presec, Adisco, St. Augustine’s College, St. Peter’s SHS, Opoku Ware School, Pope John’s SHS and Minor Seminary, GSTS, Koforidua Sec Tech, and Ashanti giants Prempeh College.

Upper East Region
Winner of 2020 NSMQ
The Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Accra, popularly known as PRESEC won the 2020 National Science and Maths Quiz for the sixth time.
After an eventful final held at the University of Ghana on Thursday, PRESEC won with a total of 36 points beating Adisadel College (ADISCO) who placed second with 31 points and Opoku Ware Senior High School (OWASS) who placed third with 21 points.
The victory by PRESEC means they have won the competition for a record sixth time, the most by any senior high school in the country.
PRESEC managed to lead the competition from the first round to the fifth round. They were, however, given a scare by Adisco in the fourth and fifth rounds who managed to overcome their poor start to put in a good fight.
