E/R: Oyoko Methodist Senior High School Celebrates Its 2nd Speech and Prize Giving Day

Oyoko Methodist Senior High School in Koforidua, Eastern Region this weekend celebrated its second speech and prize-giving day.

The colourful event that took place under the theme ‘ Quality Education, the role of stakeholders ‘ brought together past and present students of the school.

The event began with the Board Chairman, Chairman for the occasion, Headmaster, Guest Speaker, inspecting the school’s Cadet Corps.

In his speech, the Chairman, Mr Michael Okyere Baafi, Chief Executive Officer of the Free Zones Board, reiterated that the Speech and Prize Giving Day is in its time to take stock, reflect on the accomplishments of the school’s struggles, praise those who have supported the programs of the school and finally recognize students who have excelled in different fields and disciplines to serve as inspiration to others.

More than 40 students have been awarded in both academic and sports, and teachers and non-teachers have also been awarded goodies for their hard work in the development of Oyoko Methodist Senior High School (OMESS).

Mr Michael Okyere Baafi, the occasion chairman made a donation of 100 cement bags and promised 5 laptops for the administration of the school.

For the second time, the event saw Mr Emmanuel Acquaye an educationalist as the guest speaker. He advised the students; “note that, in order to be relevant, you must first strive to succeed in the little things you do so that you can receive greater things.”

In his report, the Headmaster Mr Frank Inkum Eyiah reported that, for both academics and sports in the community, the school continues to make giant strides in second-cycle education.

The event saw famous and notable people including Hon. Kwasi Adjei-Boateng, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Nana Oyoko Hemaa, Municipal Chief Executive Officer of New Juaben and various senior high school headmasters in the Eastern Region were there to help.
