Second-Cycle Institutions Receive PPEs From The Government

Some secondary institutions in the Volta Region have been provided with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from the government as part of the steps to ensure the safe resumption of academic activities in schools.

The institutions are located in the Hohoe Municipality, the Afadzato South District, the Kpando Municipality and the North and South Dayi Districts.

Items include hand sanitizers, veronica bins, gun thermometers and nose mask.

Mr Andrews Teddy Ofori, the Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) who presented the items to representatives of the educational directorates, said it formed part of government’s support to ensure that students were safe and adhered to all precautionary measures.

He said the items would be evenly distributed to ensure that all students and schools were adequately resourced to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus disease.

Madam Gladys Amenya, Hohoe Municipal Director of Education who received the items on behalf of the Directorates, expressed gratitude to the government for the support in ensuring safe and conducive teaching and learning environment for teachers and students.

She said the items would be put to good use and tasked heads of the beneficiary institutions to ensure students and staff observed all protocols.
Madam Amenya said the Directorate had monitoring teams to ensure compliance.

A total of 95 veronica buckets, 38-gun thermometers, 190 soaps, 190 tissue papers, 3,688 hand sanitizers and 11,065 face masks were presented to seven second-cycle institutions in the Hohoe Municipality.
