Sprite Ball: Mfantsipim School and Shama SHS receives Sneakers as Promised

Basketballghana.com was present at the presentation ceremony of high-end basketball sneakers to Mfantsipim School and Shama Senior High School Basketball Teams earlier today. The sneakers were a gift from NBA star Kyrie Irving honoring his promise to the top-ranked schools at the 2019-2020 Sprite Ball Championship held in January this year.

The Sprite Ball Championship is Ghana’s biggest High School Basketball competition and Mfantsipim has won the Boys Division five times while winning in January marked Shama’s first title win in the competition.

Making the donation on behalf of Brookyln Nets Guard Irving was Chief Executive Officer of RITE Sports Limited (organizers of Sprite Ball) Yaw Sakyi Afari.

The brief exercise was done at the respective campuses in Cape Coast in Ghana’s Central Region and Shama in Ghana’s Western Region respectively.

At Mfantsipim, the presentation of the NIKE Kyrie Five sneakers was conducted prior to the official opening of the school’s new basketball facility. Construction of the facility was funded by the school’s Old Boys Association.
