Teacher trainees at the Public Colleges of Education shall get their allowances in June, as reported by the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG).
In a statement issued on 18 June 2020, the Association stated that students who do not receive their allowances during their first semester will be paid arrears for their second semester allowances.
A delegation led by the President, Mr. Augustine Appiah on June 15 and 16, engaged stakeholders on issues of interest to teacher trainees of which the disbursement of allowances became a major matter of concern.
According to reports, some 6,107 students were yet to be paid their first-semester allowance.
The leadership of TTAG called on all Presidents of the respective Student Representative Councils (SRCs) to engage their College allowance Coordinators to ensure that correct details of the affected trainees are submitted on time for payment.
