Germany automatically qualify as hosts and will be eager to succeed after their group stage exit at last winter’s World Cup.

Julian Nagelsmann is now the man in charge following Hansi Flick’s departure in September and the new boss would be wise to build his team around Bayern Munich starlet Jamal Musiala.


Hungary have qualified for their third consecutive European Championship after a 44-year absence from the competition.

A 2-2 draw at Bulgaria secured the Magyars’ place at next summer’s showpiece and with skipper Dominik Szoboszlai evolving into one of the world’s best players at Liverpool, Marco Rossi’s side could make a significant impact in Germany.

Portugal have been all-conquering in Group J, tasting victory in all nine of their games and boasting a goal difference of plus 32.

Euro 2024 will likely be Cristiano Ronaldo’s last major international tournament and he will be supported by the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Rafael Leao and Joao Felix.


Scotland will be playing at back-to-back European Championships for the first time since 1996 thanks to five wins from seven qualifiers — including a 2-0 victory over Spain last March.

The Spaniards’ win in Oslo booked the Tartan Army’s tickets to Germany and with the likes of Scott McTominay, John McGinn, Andrew Robertson and Kieran Tierney shining under Steve Clarke, fans will be cautiously optimistic.

Slovakia secured their spot at Euro 2024 as Group J runners-up with a convincing 4-2 home victory over Iceland, taking them to 19 points from nine qualifiers.

Manager Francesco Calzona has some quality operators at his disposal, including Napoli lynchpin Stanislav Lobotka and Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Milan Skriniar — who captains the side.


Spain’s 1-0 victory in Norway last month secured their place at Euro 2024.

La Roja were semi-finalists at the last tournament and have an exciting core of young players, marshalled by experienced figures like Rodri and Dani Carvajal.
