UBA National Essay Competition produces first graduate

It was a grin as Dorcas Nuku Darko, who graduated from the second class high-class section in the University of Ghana, Legon, on Friday, November 15, 2019, as a runner-up for the 2014 UBA Founding National Essay Competition.

Dorcas took part as a contestant of keta senior high-technical school in 2014 in the first edition of the UBA Foundation’s National Essay Competition.

She was awarded a bachelor’s degree in support of her tertiary education. Dorcas, who graduated from the University of Ghana, Legon with a bachelor’s degree in political science and information studies, was full of praise for UBA and could not hide her excitement at the possibility of completing her first degree.

She suggested that other students take these chances seriously.

“When UBA Foundation gave me this opportunity, I am overwhelmed and excited and would like to advise all students to compete when they see the call for entries to live evidence,” she said.

On Thursday 21 November 2019 Ms. Dorcas Darko further sent a courteous call to the Head Office of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Limited, Ghana, to thank the bank for the assistance it provided in its full tertiary education.

Dr. Udom announced that the National Essay Competition entries in this year have hit a record high with double the entries that have been received last year.

The 10 finalists will be announced soon after the marking is done. He also disclosed that the winner will have $5000; 1st Runner-up, $3000 and 2nd Runner-up $2000. All 10 finalists will receive a laptop and several gift items.
