The chairs, valued at about GH₵ 7,000.00, will augment furniture at the Out-Patients-Department (OPD). This will go a long way to enhance the Clinic’s commitment to ensuring the effective observance of physical distancing, a key COVID-19 protocol while guaranteeing the comfort of its patrons.

Receiving the chairs on behalf of Management of COLTEK, the Principal, Prof. Frederick Kwaku Sarfo expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Board of Directors of UEWCCU for the kind gesture.

He said that the donation was timely, considering the pressure on all health facilities in the country currently because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He described the move as a good corporate social responsibility to boost effective and efficient healthcare delivery at the College.

He was particularly grateful to the Clinic staff for their dedication and hard work despite the high risks that health staff face because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“News of COVID-19 infection and deaths among health personnel in the country and abroad is well-known but you have not allowed that to cow you into shirking your duty. Rather, you have acted with extreme professionalism and sought the good of staff and citizens in our environs,” he observed.

Presenting the Chairs, a Board Member of the UEWCCU and Deputy Registrar, Mr. Michael Kofi Twum-Ampomah indicated that the donation was in response to a request made by the Clinic to the Union. He hoped that the chairs would help to bring comfort to patrons of the clinic.
