UG: LASA Executives Donate Generator as ‘Legacy Project’
The executives of the Legon Archaeology Student’s Association (LASA) at the University Of Ghana for the 2019/2020 academic year have donated a Honda 10kva (13000W) diesel generator to the Department of Archeology as their ‘legacy project’ for the year of service.
Speaking exclusively to UniversNews, President of the Legon Archaeology Students Association, Ankrah-Addison Odarkor, stated that the donated generator should be used in the Department and the Museum of Archaeology by the staff of the Department.
“We are donating it (generators) to the department on behalf of my colleagues and executives for Legon Archaeology Students Association 2019/2020 Academic Year for use by the department and also the Museum,” she said.
Further speaking, she also noted that the executives of LASA should be given the chance to rent the generator for events outside the Department when needed.
This is to enable LASA to obtain needed revenue in sustaining LASA activities, including such a legacy project.
“Inasmuch as it has been donated to the department, the LASA executives will be in charge of renting it out when there is a program outside so they can use the money in maintaining it.”
The Head of Department, Fritz Beveridge showed his appreciation for the donation and promised the executives that their entire request concerning the generator will be duly followed.
The short presentation ceremony was done at the Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies on Thursday, 30th of July, 2020.
