The Students Representative Council of the University of Ghana has urged its members to stop grumbling over the numerous assignments given to them by their lecturers as a means to assess them.
There have been complaints from students over the increasing number of assignment from lectures.
Most of these students take to social media to register their dissatisfaction.
But the SRC wants the students to rather focus on completing the assignments and making them ready for submission, rather than making complains.
Chairperson of the SRC’s Academic Affairs Committee, Derrick Osei Addo, in an interview with UniversNews, reminded students that assignments were necessary for their assessment this semester.
“Management made it known to the student body that, assessments for the e-learning will be based on assignments, quizzes and exams. The lecturers are doing what is expected of them by giving assignment. Therefore students should rather adjust and work on all assignments though they are many than to complain,” he said
He added that;
“Students should try and work on all assignments given by lectures since we are not in normal times and since our assessments will be based on these assignments.”
Derrick Osei Addo also assured students that efforts were being made to resolve all outstanding challenges with the school online learning programme.
He says that the SRC is “working on a reporting system that will collate all students issues, which will be submitted to their respective heads of department and addressed appropriately.”
