UHAS Alumni Executives Pay Courtesy Call On The Vice-Chancellor

Executives of the UHAS Alumni Association on Tuesday 1st September, 2020 paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor of the University of health and Allied Sciences, Prof. John Gyapong.
The purpose for the visit was to congratulate him on his re-appointment as VC and discuss issues pertaining to strengthening the Association and the collaboration with the University for mutual benefit.


Mr. Desmond Dzidzornu Otoo, president of the Association congratulated the VC on the successful completion of his first term and for his re-appointment for a second term of 2years.

Mr. Otoo also extended appreciation to the VC and the whole leadership of the University for the great job they are doing in putting UHAS on the map. The executive body of the Association assured the VC of their continuous support in all matters that will promote the vision of the University.


The Vice-Chancellor then shared his rich experiences in management and as a member of other Alumni Associations with the executives.

The VC further discussed how to overcome existing challenges with the executives. Prof. John Owusu Gyapong shared with executives his developmental plans for the next two (2) years and expressed his interest in ensuring that we build a formidable Association to drive development of the University in the near future. He further wished all Alumni the best in their endeavors.

Other issues discussed were proposals for financing the association through Alumni levies as part of congregation fees. Collaboration to ensure UHAS graduates are given some priorities in further studies and job opportunities in the University.


Executives as part of the visit also had a fruitful discussion with the Director of Public Affairs, Mrs. Maria B. Gwira on getting all Alumni and most importantly interested members on board as well as fostering good network between the University and the outside world with the Alumni acting as ambassadors.


We entreat all ALUMNI to get on board and support in any way or form (not just financially) but with any activities in mind and wish all of us the best in our professional lives.
