University of Ghana students come from across Ghana, Africa and throughout the world, representing diverse perspectives, experiences, backgrounds and cultures. Through the Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO), the university makes every effort to provide financial aid to qualified Ghanaian undergraduate applicants with limited finances. 

UG through the Office of International Programmes encourages participation of international students through direct enrollment and exchange programmes. At present, international students number close to 1,500 students, drawn from over 71 countries. 

Undergraduate Admission

Earn a bachelor’s degree (first graduate degree) in your area of interest by choosing from over 40+ departments at the University of Ghana.

Post-First Degree Law Admission

A prospective student who holds a bachelor’s degree (first graduate degree) can apply to earn a first professional degree in law (LL.B).

Duration of the programme is three (3) years.

Postgraduate Admission

You can earn a master’s or a doctoral degree at the School of Graduate Studies from over 50+ programmes offered by various departments.

International Admission

Every year, hundreds of international students from over 60 countries study with us. Our rich multi-cultural environment ensures that our students benefit from holistic education and develop global perspectives.

Distance Admission

UG offers valuable opportunities for lifelong learning, including continuing adult education and distance learning. Choose from our 10 Regional Centres.

Graduate Entry Medical Program
