WAEC Exams 2020 indefinitely postponed in Nigeria

The huge presence and impact of the novel coronavirus have given the Nigerian government no option than to postpone the Senior School Certificate Examination conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Examinations Council (NECO) for 2020 academic year.

This Minister of state for education, Emeka Nwajubu proclaimed this in a televised press briefing monitored by DAILY POST.

He said “WAEC and NECO have been postponed indefinitely for the year”

Emeka Nwajubu added that “The students can learn online, we have made a lot of resources for that, a portal has also been deployed by the director of FCT for the process”

He continued “we are working hand in hand with the ministry of information to expand education content for students while at home as a temporal school break”

Unfortunately, he said the “our substantial challenge is to reach children who do not have devices to enable them to study virtually but for the benefit of those in such a situation, we are working with radio corporations to air some of the contents for primary and secondary students”.
