Take Note: WAEC to delay the conduct of 2020 WASSCE until normalcy is restored
The conduct of 2020 WASSCE for school candidates has been a doubting thing for the majority of final year students particularly, in Senior High Schools in this coronavirus pandemic period.
The fact is if you are a final year student in SHS its necessary not to play around during this waiting period, but to study hard for the postponed examination.
A statement signed by Demianus Ojijeogu the Head of Public Affairs, WAEC, Nigeria and copied to websaet.com stated that a new 2020 WASSCE timetable will be communicated to students and relevant stakeholders once the coronavirus pandemic is brought under control.
“As we eagerly await the end of COVID-19 and the resumption of normal activities in the country, the West African Examinations Council urge candidates to take advantage of this temporal school break to study and prepare for the pending the commencement of the examination”. the statement added.
The West African Senior School Certificate Examination has only been suspended amid coronavirus but has not been cancelled.
Recall that WAEC earlier announced the suspension of 2020 WASSCE for candidates due to the global pandemic coronavirus, adding that a new timetable will be communicated.
Following the crisis, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has also suspended the conduct of Basic Education Examination Certificate (2020 BECE), the Director-General of the Education Service has disclosed the conduct of BECE would be delayed until the pandemic is over.
