WASSCE 2020 No Longer Going To Be Country Specific – GES
Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwah, the director of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has announced that WASSCE will no longer be country specific.
The Education Ministry and GES agreed to take a country-specific examination as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Minister of Education said the candidates for WASSCE would write “specific Ghana exams” in the country rather than WASSCE.
However, in an interview on Peace FM’s morning show ‘kokrokoo’, Prof Opoku-Amankwah said WAEC will be organising the exams for all the five countries: Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, The Gambia and Liberia.
“We need to rejoice over the fact that there is a breakthrough in how the examinations will be written. By God’s grace all the five countries have bought into our plan and all of them will write the exams at the same time. The entire schools in West Africa will start the exams in August 3,” he indicated.
