The 2019/2020 final year candidates of the Twene Amanfo Senior High/Technical School (TASTEC) in Sunyani have obtained 100 per cent passes in the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Mr Gordon Osei Marfo, the Headmaster announced in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the sidelines of the School’s first staff general meeting for the 2020/2021 academic year in Sunyani.

He said all the 449 candidates the School presented for the examination obtained the required passes that qualified them for admission to tertiary institutions.

Mr Marfo explained that in the core subjects, all the candidates had 100 per cent passes from A1 to C6 in mathematics and integrated science, adding passes between A1 and C6 was 98.22 per cent in English language and social studies were also 99.78 per cent passes from A1 and C6.

He said the candidates also scored 100 per cent passes in the School’s 22 elective subjects which was 73.3 per cent in 2018/2019 academic year.

Mr. Marfo, an old student said “this is the best record ever in the history of the school and must be protected and improved”.

He attributed the achievement to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s education policy of double-track system that made provision for more contact hours for teaching and learning.
