WASSCE & BECE Results Upgrading is a Scam – WAEC warns
Head of Public Affairs of the Ghana Office of the West African Examination Council (WAEC), Agnes Teye-Cudjoe has cautioned students who pay monies to ‘supposedly’ WAEC officials to get their results changed to desist from the act saying that they are being defrauded.
According to her, there is no way anyone can gain access to the council’s database and change the results of students after they have sat for their exit exams.
In a special interview with Happy 98.9 FM’s Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show dubbed, “WAEC modalities for the conduct of WASSCE,” she said, “There is nothing like results upgrade. WAEC cannot upgrade your results. All these are being done by scammers. You are awarded what you get.”
She reiterated that there is no way results can be upgraded in WAEC’s database because the database is secure and data on there can never be breached.
Agnes noted that the exit exam will be carried out and graded accordingly and advised candidates not to pay any money to anyone for an upgrade of grades.
There have been recorded instances where students paid huge sums of money to so-called ‘WAEC’ officials to get their results upgraded.
After such transactions, results presented by these students to the schools they sought admission into did not tally with the results the school authorities had directly received from WAEC.
